One thing that's going on my New Year's Resolution list for 2003:

Finish and submit every novel sitting unfinished or unrevised on my desktop.

That's... ten. Sheesh. Okay, I'm counting HD and F&W, which are finished and revised, but not submitted.

Do I have ten publishers to send everything to? My.

While I'm thinking of it, just to write down my thoughts:

Goal #1: To support myself on my writing income

How to?

1. Get rid of extraneous debt

--- Find a day job that pays enough to pay off the cc's in 6 months.
--- Don't ever get into the credit card trap again.
--- Keep on top of bills, and don't get in over my head ever again.
--- Remember how it feels to be stretched so thin you can't stretch anymore.

2. Write every day

--- This should be so obvious!
--- Branch out into nonfiction as well as other genres.
--- Keep sight of Goal #1 at all times.

3. Submit!

--- Again, this should be obvious.
--- Branch out into nonfiction as well as other genres.
--- Have something in queue at all times.
--- Aim for "pro" publishers as well as epublishers/small publishers.

4. Promote!

--- Don't be shy.
--- Try different ways to promote published books. (for example: ebay.)
--- Try contests and giveaways.
--- Stay visible. Concentrate.
--- Keep sight of Goal #1 at all times.

I'm working on re-doing my goals (on the side, there) and making them a bit easier to implement. Stay tuned.

I might as well update almost everything at once, here...

I'm working on writing goals right now, and where I want to be by Jan. 2004. My moving goals/getting a job goals/etc. still stand, and I'm working on getting caught up (for the last time) with ebay as well.

I'm contemplating whether to post the lots like I intended to. I think I might; it still would mean less to pack and move. And I'm going to have a lot leftover at the end that I don't necessarily want to store for six months to a year. Depending on how this week goes, we shall see.

I'm hoping for a call from a prospective job this week. *crossing fingers*
